Pilot Program
When organizations are considering how to get started with an enterprise roadmapping solution, inherently they are looking to get a solid understanding of how to best design, validate and deploy a roadmapping solution that uniquely aligns with their corporate processes and business needs. Through a series of focused workshops led by Alignent's Consulting Team, the Vision Strategist Pilot Program provides the opportunity for validation of the roadmapping solution against specific business needs and criteria.
The Pilot Program provides clients with a hands-on approach that enables them to determine how to best design and configure Vision Strategist over an evaluation period that typically spans six to eight weeks. At the end of the Pilot, clients clearly understand how to begin deploying a roadmapping solution based on validation of a specific use case and specific business objectives that are unique to their organizational structure and individual planning processes.
The Pilot not only validates the Vision Strategist prototype with the initial focused team who provides feedback, but also enables the team to share the prototype and feedback to a broader team before the final evaluation workshop.
Our Pilot Program involves the following key activities:
Step 1: Formation
Our consulting team works directly with you and other business executives who will sponsor the Pilot. During the formation phase, we document the most critical business objectives for roadmapping, and identify the most significant potential benefits that Vision Strategist can provide to your organization. We develop the short list of specific validation criteria.
Step 2: Design Workshop
In the design workshop, we begin to develop the usage model for Vision Strategist. We determine what type of information you need to gather in roadmaps, how information will be shared among roadmapping participants, and how many people will be using the system as part of the Pilot Program. We map out organizational hierarchies and dependencies, information workflow, and security permissions, so that they tightly align with Vision Strategist design framework. We build out the usage model, test scripts and configure and install Vision Strategist.
Step 3: Validation Workshop
As part of the validation workshop, we work with a starting set of your roadmap data. Our consultants demonstrate the initial design framework and collect additional data to validate the prototype. We collect additional data to populate roadmaps, reconfigure the server design and refine the use case for demonstration.
Step 4: Evaluation Workshop
As part of the evaluation workshop and the last phase of the Pilot Program, we conduct exercises and training that is specific to your needs. Alignent's consulting team works closely with you to evaluate the results against the objectives defined at the outset of the Pilot. This process includes analyzing results against the use case with Vision Strategist software, developing tailored cost and benefit models for a full deployment, providing an initial framework for the deployment, and briefing executive sponsors on the Pilot Program results.
After the Pilot Program concludes, we will to work with you to develop a Vision Strategist implementation plan that is custom to your organization and its unique roadmapping needs.
