Carlsbad, California - March 1, 2006 - Alignent Software, the market leader in enterprise strategic planning software, has experienced continued growth and success of its Aerospace & Defense practice as a result of recent industry adoption and team expansion during the last 12 months. As one of Alignent's key practices, the A&D team grew its 2005 revenues by nearly eight fold over 2004, and has been a major contributor in the company's continued acceleration.

These organizations are using Vision Strategist to improve strategic technology management and innovation processes across different business units, programs and suppliers.
By using Alignent's Vision Strategist software, industry organizations are able to make more informed decisions about the future by aligning R&D with business strategy, enabling better communication across different departments, and gaining visibility into technologies and needs before resources and investments are made. Recently, Alignent reached a major milestone of closing its first seven-figure contract with a leading manufacturer of commercial and military aircraft.
This progress is also reflected in working with top industry leaders such as NAVAIR (Naval Air Systems Command), one government organization using Alignent's Vision Strategist roadmapping software to align technology investments with other government agencies, industry and suppliers. NAVAIR recently announced the organization is using Vision Strategist to create roadmaps to identify new innovations, encourage continued technology investments, and improve future decision-making strategies. Today, more than 200 technologies are being tracked within Vision Strategist, according to NAVAIR.
Industry officials are encouraged that many major suppliers such as Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman are currently using Vision Strategist. By linking industry and government technology developments with suppliers through roadmaps, officials hope to speed the transition of necessary technologies and maximize investments.
Alignent's A&D practice has achieved success by establishing a strong track record under the leadership of Mr. Hill, who previously led the team as Director of Aerospace & Defense, and was recently appointed Vice President of A&D. Mr. Hill has consistently built up the A&D practice since joining Alignent from Oracle Corporation, where he led the Western United States' Strategic Accounts Sales organization as Area Director. He has significant A&D domain experience, having worked in engineering capacities at leading companies such as Boeing, General Dynamics and Loral. Mr. Hill also has advanced Aeronautical Engineering degrees from the University of Washington, a leading research institution in the Aerospace field.
Mr. Hill leads a skilled team of domain experts with backgrounds from frontrunner companies such Sikorsky, Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Navy.
