Northrop Grumman Uses Roadmapping Software to Increase Visibility and Strategic Alignment of Technology Investments, Product Offerings, and Customer Needs
Sector Implements Alignent Vision Strategist Software to Optimize and Support Strategic Business Decisions
Carlsbad, Calif. - November 9, 2006 - Alignent Software, the leading provider of collaborative roadmapping solutions, today announced Northrop Grumman Corporation’s Integrated Systems sector has selected Alignent’s Vision Strategist in order to develop a centralized database of roadmaps to increase visibility into technology investments and product offerings across the sector, and operational capability needs across their customer base. With increased visibility, Northrop Grumman can create and visualize linkages between these critical elements, and optimize their ability to make strategic decisions about investments and long-range technology plans.
Northrop Grumman will use electronically-enabled roadmaps to gain visibility into current and planned technology solutions, internal technology needs, product solutions, and the warfighter’s operational capability needs. This visibility will provide decision-makers with an accurate view of the strategic landscape, supporting decision-making capabilities and improving the strategic planning process across the Integrated Systems sector.
Using Vision Strategist, Northrop Grumman strives to develop an integrated planning environment that supports strategic decisions and provides a unification of investments and activities across the sector. Vision Strategist’s single, centralized database of roadmaps allows planning stakeholders to gain visibility into every roadmap across every market segment and business unit within Northrop Grumman, synchronizing product, market and technology plans across the organization, and improving enterprise collaboration and communication.
Additionally, Vision Strategist’s database will allow Northrop Grumman to develop a custom-tailored planning framework that allows roadmaps to reflect its planning process, and to easily be created and maintained across a dispersed set of stakeholders.
“Vision Strategist roadmaps will help Northrop Grumman facilitate the strategic alignment of technical activities across the sector,” said Max Hill, Vice President of North American Sales for Alignent Software. “This will lead to the elimination of redundant projects and duplicative investments, and also enable the various business units to function as one collaborative R&D center.”
Currently, Vision Strategist will be deployed across all three business units of Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems, with thousands of users including technologists, major product teams, future product teams and business development teams.
